Developers

Built for developers

Litestore is a regular Next.js app. Change what you need and deploy it like anything else.

Stack

The stack you'd pick anyway

There's no custom framework to learn. You can look up every package it uses.

  • The whole repository is written in TypeScript.
  • You query the database with Prisma's typed client.
  • Pages read straight from the database, with no API in between.
package.json
"dependencies": {
"next": "^16.1.1",
"react": "^19.2.3",
"typescript": "^5.9.3",
"@prisma/client": "7.4.2",
"zod": "^4.3.5",
"better-auth": "^1.4.19",
"inngest": "^3.54.0",
"stripe": "^20.3.1",
"resend": "^6.9.2",
"tailwindcss": "^4.1.18",
}
APIs

Talk to your store

Your scripts and other apps can talk to your store through its API.

  • You can generate clients from the REST API's OpenAPI spec.
  • Your TypeScript code can call the store through oRPC with full types.
  • Each API key can only do what its scopes allow.

Extending

Add a block in three steps

Most changes follow one pattern. The build tells you if you missed a step.

Name the new kind

Start by adding your block to the list of block kinds.

Give it a renderer

The build fails until your block has a renderer.

1// Every block kind is listed in one place.
2export const BLOCK_TYPES = ["banner", "slider", "products", "faq"] as const
Run the checks

Run bun run verify before you push.

Missed a step?

The error names the file you forgot.

Imports

Bring your store with you

Import your catalog and customers from another store. To add another platform, you write one adapter.

  • Connect Shopify and import your catalog.
  • You can bring anything else in as a CSV.
  • You can bring your reviews and creator partners too.

Good to know

Read this before you build on it.

3
  • Not yetPlugin APIThere's no stable extension API yet, so you extend Litestore by changing the code.
  • In CITests and checksTests and architecture checks run on every change before it lands.
  • Ships from mainReleasesThere are no tagged releases yet, so read the changelog to see what changed.
